"Serving the community is as important as being a successful businessman. The Pillar's Club has been successful because people in Fairfield County care. My goal is to inspire those who can give...to give more."
Milton J Taylor, Sr
Honorary Chairman, Pillars Club
United Way of Fairfield County.
Why Leadership Giving is a Smart Investment
Fairfield County is a community rich with a history and tradition of people caring for people. It has been carried on, not by chance, but by the design and concerted efforts of concerned community leaders who foresaw the needs of our community and provided the direction and resources to meet those needs.
A leadership gift is an investment in our community. Like other investments you have a right to know how your money is put to work. Your gift will help strengthen families, promote self-sufficiency, improve health and help all types of people including the disabled, youth and senior citizens. Experienced volunteers from our community, who are knowledgeable of local needs, monitor agencies and make sure your money is well spent.
Also, agencies under the United Way umbrella are able to avoid the costs of fund raising and concentrate on providing needed programs and services. And because United Way utilizes volunteers in all areas, including fund raising, our administrative costs are low, promoting effectiveness and efficiency.
Through membership in the Pillar's Club, you'll gain an opportunity to be recognized as a progressive and committed community leader. Pillar's Club members appear annually in our brochure. (If desired, individual contributors may request to remain anonymous.) As a member, you'll also receive invitations to Pillar's Club and other United Way events and have an opportunity to network with area business and cultural leaders.
