BOLD GOAL: INCREASE ACTIVITIES LEADING TO POSITIVE DEVELOPMENT OF CHILDREN


Target:
Increase the number of activities that provide positive development for children by 10% annually.

Strategies:
· Increase participation in meaningful activity
· Increase access to services (for children with special needs)
· Decrease incidence of behavioral issues
· Increase good decision-making skills
· Increase familial engagement
· Increase community education activities that contribute to positive child development

Progress:
Boy Scouts – Traditional Scouting
• 69% retention as of 6-30-13
• 75% advancement as of 6-30-13
• 94% of Boy Scouts agree that Scouting provides opportunities for community service
• 96% of Cub Scouts says Scouting has helped them make good choices

Girls Scouts – Leadership Development Program
• 83% of participants that participated in Girl Scouts built a stronger sense of self (increased self-esteem, positive development)
• 79% reported that participating in Girls Scouts has built healthy relationships and conflict resolution skills. (decrease bullying, increase positive development)
• 69% reported that participating in Girls Scouts has built positive values and problem solving skills (increased life skills, positive development)
• 80% reported that participating in Girls Scouts built cooperation and team building skills (increased positive development)

Robert K. Fox Family Y Summer Day Camp
• 80% of campers reported a positive camp experience
• 70% attended at least 5 outings
