Donate to help continue building the gift of literacy and imagination in Fairfield County children.
The United Way of Fairfield County proudly supports Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, a program that mails free, high-quality books to children from birth until their fifth birthday. In 2024, the Imagination Library distributed over 36 million books nationwide, marking a 24.4% increase from the previous year. Since its inception, the program has gifted over 264 million books, fostering early literacy and a love for reading among young children.

In Fairfield County, the United Way covers the mailing expenses for participating children.
The cost is approximately $30 per child per year, which includes both the book and postage. In 2024, with over 5,600 children enrolled in the county, the annual expense totals around $168,000, with a portion covered by the State of Ohio. This investment is vital to ensuring that every child — regardless of family income — has access to books during their formative years.
To continue and expand this impactful program, the United Way of Fairfield County relies on community support. Donations help cover the costs associated with mailing books and enrolling more children in the program.
