Funding Process
United Way of Fairfield County (UWFC) accepts and reviews applications for funding through Community Impact Councils once each calendar year. Funding is provided for the fiscal year July 1 – June 30. The application will open in November prior to the funded year.
The application for the FY27 grant cycle will open on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. Submissions will be accepted until January 30, 2026. Please see the online application for more important dates and deadlines.
- January
- Deadline for submitting funding applications is the last Thursday in January prior to the funded year.
- February–April
- Impact Councils make their recommendations to United Way’s Board of Trustees for program funding based on careful review of the applications, site visit discussions, and committee level discussions.
- May
- Funding decisions are approved by the Board of Trustees.
- July
- Disbursement of funds begins for fiscal year July 1 – June 30. Year-end reports for the previous fiscal year are due by the fourth Friday in July.
