Dear United Way Supporters,
My thanks to all of you for helping make this year’s United Way campaign our best ever! You’ve helped raise a record $1.74 million.
When we started campaign planning in early 2007, we set our goals high. Although we did not make it to our goal of $1.8 million, we did raise more money than every before. You helped make it happen.
There are too many families and individuals within our community that need help. Your support of the United Way ensures that people, who need help, get help. You’ve joined with me and thousands of others within our community to invest in people. Therefore, you’re investing in our community.
On behalf of the entire Campaign Organization, THANK YOU!
Sincerely,
Martin Taylor

Our Mission: Improving lives through the caring power of our community
Our Vision: We will focus our resources to achieve the greatest impact on community needs. We will accomplish our mission by convening, leading and challenging community partners to develop and support programs that improve quality of life. We will create long-term change by measuring results.
Community Impact: Here in Fairfield County, we're focused on critical issues such as helping children and youth succeed, family stability, health care, mental health and wellness and job development.
Our goal is long lasting change that prevents problems from happening in the first place. We realize that we may never prevent problems, however we are focused on building a community where everyone has opportunities and resources to reach their potential.
Too many families are walking along a financial tightrope, barely getting by, with no ability to save for college, a home, or retirement. We are working to transform that financial tightrope into solid ground by helping families learn the basics of budgeting, increase their income and start to set aside savings.
A
fire destroys a house in the middle of the night and the Red Cross is there, ready to provide comfort and assistance. A woman, sobbing and bruised, seeks shelter from her abuser at the Lighthouse. A dying woman lives the remaining months of her life with the support of Hospice. These, and countless other stories in 21 agencies happen every day in Fairfield County.
21 local agencies receive significant assistance from United Way of Fairfield County.
United Way receives its assistance from you.
