Funding Process

United Way of Fairfield County (UWFC) accepts and reviews applications for funding through Community Impact Councils once each calendar year. Funding is provided for the fiscal year July 1 - June 30. The application will open up in the December prior to the funded year.

January
Deadline for submitting funding applications is the last Thursday in January prior to the funded year.

April-May
Impact Councils make their recommendations to United Way's Board of Trustees for program funding based on careful review of the applications, site visit discussions, and committee level discussions.

May
Funding decisions are approved by the Board of Trustees.

July
Disbursement of funds begins for fiscal year July 1 - June 30. Year-end reports for previous fiscal year are due by the fourth Friday in July.
